Address/search field focus loss in Firefox on Mac

A frustrating bug on Firefox was finally hacked thanks to Dan Warne. The bug manifested by the address or search fields losing focus upon the first click. That meant that when you opened a new tab and clicked in the search box, after 1 second the focus is lost and you would find yourself ghost typing. The immediate hack was to double click on the address or search bar. Dan tracked the issue to using google.com/?? as your home page (I use /ncr) and the way google code uses Javascript to track your searches and history. Using a different homepage has proven helpful and the problem no longer exists. Just waiting for Mozilla and/or Google to address this issue so I can use my old homepage again.
