The ZYPAD WL 1100 by Eurotech Group is a massive yet tiny wrist bound wearable computer depending on how you look at it. Being able to run a Linux kernel on your wrist with a WiFi and Bluetooth radio opens a whole new possibility for mobile sleuthing. You wouldn’t be able to blend into a crowd tho.

A bluetooth enabled ski/board jacket…. now we’re talking. Apparently for the 05/06 winter season there doesn’t seam to be any upgrades. This item gets a lot of hits on the internet, yet its hard to really find somewhere to buy it. Amazon has some similar items, but not this exact bluetooth model. Hopefully its not discontinued. Microsoft Skinput: Wheres it going?

Microsoft spends money on research into a keyboard and display system projected and controlled on a persons hand and forearm.
So whats the end goal here? I know future tech usually goes through its stupid stage and every project must crawl before it can fly, but I fail to grasp the end goal of this technology? Holding your hand up for a projecter to illuminate some buttons doesn’t have much room to grow. Maybe if they were to merge Skinput with the technology of electronic tattooing, then we could start to get some serious future geekery. Originally posted in 2008 at Physorg, this technology literally gets under your skin. Appliance giant Philips have expressed interest in electronic ink for some time now as well albeit in a more sensual connotation. Gizmodos post on the subject has some hilarious comments:
