What have we here? I found this image on wearable technology blog with no details or explanations. The image purports to interact with games by allowing the controller to ‘talk’ with your brain. While I think this is just mythware or concept art the day when this sort of interaction is indeed available at the local tech store is not too far away.

This device reminds me of that old 1995 movie “Strange Days” where a similar (albeit more insect looking) device is placed on the head and experiences can be recorded, played back or modified.

WSJ reports Walmart will role out a program to tag select clothing with RFID tags to further streamline stock maintenance and track sales. Privacy advocates are concerned and rightfully so. If a corporation starts tracking what clothes you wear they can start to track where you wear them as well.

This opens a whole new world of possibilities in the wearable tech saga. Imagine tagging all uniforms given to employees with RFID. They might forget their ID card (with chip onboard) but they won’t forget their clothes. The chips can open doors (where allowed) log in to terminals (coupled with passwords for added security) and track where employees are on corp property. This ensures uniforms cannot be forged or copied (at least not without some serious talent) and married to some kind of a biometric scanning system you verify a body in the clothing is who they say they are. RFID sensors are a fraction of the price of biometric scanners.
