Residential Housing To Drop Another 25% Since 2005, I've been saying that San Diego home prices are way overpriced and are due for a 40-45% correction. The homes are so far out-of-whack thats it's 30-50% cheaper to rent than it is to buy. Of course, the National Association of Realtors (the cheerleaders of the real estate...... -

MonaVie is Trying to Sue Me... ... and I couldn't be happier about it. For those who don't know, MonaVie is a juice, that retails for $1.70 an ounce (yes ounce). Being the consumer advocate that I am, I wrote that I think MonaVie is a scam since it's around $1500-$2000 a year per person and......
Change your voice on a Mac

(image from China Grabber | link to image)
While there are many solutions for the Microsoft Windows platform (AV voice changer, MorphVOX Pro etc..) there are not too many commercial options available to the Macheads (except for VoiceCandy, which is nothing like its Windows counterparts and cannot do real time voice changing).
Uramac has a very detailed step by step guide on how to accomplish some pretty cool voice effects using GarageBand and a couple other apps. Link to full guide.
Its pretty simple and takes about 10 minutes.

Copy music from iPhone without iTunes
Apples iTunes desktop application is both a godsend and pain in the pootaki. For managing music and movies on your iPhone/iPod/iPad it does not get better or easier. Everything works and is simply enough for my mother to administer.
However, if you have any kind of configuration that falls outside of the iTunes religion (custom playlists, custom locations, 2 devices, 2 PCs, some sync / some not sync etc..) iTunes is not very nice to deal with. Upgrading your PC/Mac or iPhone is very difficult unless you specifically use the migration assistant (which is not the answer 2 out of 3 times).
On my last trip away from my desktop I encountered another problem: I needed to make some space on my iPhone to record some meetings and there was no way on the iPhone itself to delete some songs. Bummer big time!
I have the option of filling up my iPhone with music automatically enabled and so I had to check the “manually manage music and videos” in iTunes. This gives me the freaky warning of losing ALL my music. I was not sure if I had it all somewhere on my Desktop.
Enter Senuti. This application enables you to copy your music to your desktop outside of iTunes. Nice one! I had used this proggie last year when it was free (it costs 18 deers now) and it copied the music files to the desktop using their iPhone names (8 alphanumeric mumbo jumbo combos). The new version has a demo mode (30 days and 1.000 files) and they have fixed that bug. Senuti works very nicely and I highly recommend it to anyone facing similar problems.

MediaLink vs. PS3 Media Server
Nullriver Software: MediaLink
Reasonably priced ($20) and nicely organized, this app worked well for me for many months. The last 2 updates started to fubar my system often requiring a hard reboot to clear (yuck). Forums and online discussions show this to be a chronic problem with some less than elegant solutions (terminating supporting processes). We’ll wait until Nullriver addresses this issue and issues a fix. Until then, I steer clear.
Problems include:
- After 5 minutes of play, the software ‘turns off’ and must be restarted in the System Preferences prefpane
- After 5 minutes of play the hosting Mac will hang and not repsond until a hard reboot is performed (I tried this on 3 different machines so I doubt its a system specific issue)
- The app crashes with a typical system popup to report the error
