The typical scenario happened today: I went to an important event, took a slew of photos with my Canon DSLR, returned home and couldn’t read the CF card.

BUMMER!!

I tried Disk Warrior, Disk Utility and even the Windows disk repair tool under XP…. no love!

Enter PhotoRescue from DataRescue out of Belgium. It does exactly as advertised and rescued everything. It even dug up a bunch of files I deleted many formats previous. Yikes!

One very cool feature that this software has is the demo mode. Download a demo and try out the repair (you just can’t save anything recovered in the demo). If you find or recover what ur looking for then you can buy it. If not, no biggie.

Another cool feature it has is after you scan the card in demo mode (which can take a while depending on size and speed of the card), you can save the image to your HDD, so when you get the full version all you need to do is fire up the image file (read/write is considerably faster) and save your files.
