Dinner for Schmucks
This was a hard movie to watch. It just made me cringe every time the character made more of a mess to try to cover the mess made in the previous scene. The director made quite a masterpiece in eliciting all kinds of emotions: anger, pity, sorrow and humor all right after each other.

Baraka - An experimental documentary [cincopa 10732714] What does a movie without dialogue, conversation or plot leave you feeling. Thanks to the scientific revolution pioneered by Copernicus, Galileo and Newton, we as a race now demand and expect explanations and closure. Baraka provides neither. What it does provide, are moments. Moments that we normally experience while we are...... -

The Heavy… kinda lightweight
I really enjoy watching some of the actors in this movie (Jones, Paul, Rea), but the story over achieves in a bad way leaving the overall experience bland and confusing.

Blood and bone
I always enjoy Jay White’s movies and his fighting styles and sequences have a uniqueness to them that makes his movies different from other fight movies. This movie has that uniqueness but a very flimsy storyline makes it easy to browse through rather than really enjoy.

The Painted Veil (movie, China) This is an interesting article about making this movie, with Edward Norton. He mentions many areas in China: Shanghai, Yunnan, Guilin, Guanxi, Xian, and the Uighur people. I've been to China 3 times, and I don't think I'd ever get tired of it. I didn't realize that he studied Chinese...... -

The Legend of Awesomest Maximus
For being a Lampoon production I had my hesitations hearing about this flick. They have long lost their original comedic values (remember European Vacation?) and those old flicks have not been matched in direction nor content for many years. However, the cast in this spoof got my attention. Honestly this movie was enjoyable to watch. I cracked a hearty chuckle during a couple scenes and expecting worse I must say it was not half bad at all. Not to mention the adequate amount of boobies and we almost get a frontal of one of Monks’ melons.
A decent 6 on the ERMS for surprisingly funny content.

22 Bullets: More like a bomb
This flick had such promise when I first heard about it: Jean Reno, producers of ‘Taken’, revenge plot, violent rating what more could you want. After seeing it I will rate it very low not because its a bad movie but because it could have been so much more and came up flacid.
First of all its in French. Don’t get me wrong…. some of my favorite movies are in French (Doberman, Brotherhood of the Wolf, District 13), but they have to be pretty entertaining to follow in English subtitles. This movie slowed down to a snails pace at times.
Lastly, it just wasn’t really a satisfying revenge romp. Its just a flat movie unfortunately. Reno did a stellar job and his part was believable, but the movie on whole could have been so much better.

Shrek Forever After: I hope another after
I enjoyed this fantasy version of a fantasy story quite wholly. It was fun and entertaining at the same time. I would have liked to see some more of Puss, but hey, him being plump was great (the boots splitting open was priceless).
The press say its the last Shrek to be made, but I hope there will be more.

Tropic Wonder (Unspoiled) I like leaving movies unspoiled, although I care little about spoilers myself. Nightmare on Elm 2010
This is a well done remake with some pre-monster Freddy scenes. As with all Elm installments its very predictable and while the effects are good there is nothing new or note-worthy in the slash and gash sequences.
Its worth a watch but don’t expect ground-breaking Freddy-fright.

Wall Street 2: A tad flat
Whether it was the fact that dramatizing a recent global event that most of us felt painfully real not too long ago or that unfortunately Shia did not carry this movie as well as he should have, Money Never Sleeps did not peak my attention very much. Gordon’s character stole the show and the scene with Sheen was by far the only time I had fun while watching.
